LIFE IS SO SHORT

If I would have known what this year had in store, I swear I would've crawled into a deep hole and wouldn't have come out until it was over. I received an e-mail from a co-worker yesterday that a former co-worker of ours lost her mother in a plane crash. I was speechless. I worked with her for a few months and even had the pleasure of traveling to South America with her when I was given the account to manage. We had a great time and throughout that trip, as short as it was, we became good friends. She talked about her mother all the time. Even though she was here in Los Angeles and her mother still lived in her native country of Brazil, they talked on the phone every single day. She was so proud of her. I remember she was anticipating her arrival a while ago when her mother was coming here to visit her. She was like a kid on Christmas morning. And now, she's gone. I called her cell to send my condolences but got her voicemail. :(

It's just yet another reminder of how short life is. There's so much wrong in this world...so much hurt and pain. We just have to really appreciate the time we have here on this earth with our loved ones. I just pray that she is able to get through this very difficult time.

Hi Jo...

I feel bummed. I can't believe it still. But when shes ready and back in Los Angeles I will make sure I call her.

I read about this on Kay's blog. Oh, dear. There just aren't any words. How absolutely tragic.

How terribly sad. Sigh. Only five months of 2007 left, and I'm counting right along with you.

Too bad you don't get up to Boston on work. I am rarely in NYC, but it would be awesome if we could do an NYC meetup sometime!
