Everyone that knows me (or reads my blog for that matter) knows that my family and I have had a very rough year thus far. In fact, I can't wait until December 31st when the clock strikes midnight and we can say goodbye to this horrible year. I still have hopes that it will turn around for us (and it already has with the news that my sister is pregnant again). Although I have received numerous "how are you" e-mails and "hope you're holding up" messages from friends, this particular friend went out of her way to do something extra special for me. It's not even the fact that she got me something tangible...it's the fact that she thought of me, went out of her way to think of what she could get me and then took the time to ask my husband for my company mailing address. Not to mention the fact that she lives in Virginia! It's not enough to say "Thank you" because it not only made my day but it made me realize how lucky I am to have this person in my life...and can call her my girlfriend.
Not only have I been really, really wanting one of these for so long, but the best part: the note it came with:

Something sweet and pretty for someone sweet and pretty. :) Just want you to know you and your family's health and well being are always in my thoughts. Love you and miss you much. Take care hun! Love, Aylan.
Aylan, if you're reading this...thank you so much again. This is one of the sweetest things anyone has ever done for me. I will never forget it. Love you too.
How can you express your gratitude for something like that? It's not the first time either. When my husband and I got engaged, I got a package in the mail. She sent me wedding dress picture holder that I now keep in our bedroom. It's beautiful! And now for everyone to see...my Edible Arrangement
On a different note, I had my six-month check up at the dentist yesterday. I HATE going to the dentist. The good news: NO cavities! The bad: I need to get a crown replaced. UGH. I HATE the dentist.

Ah, that totally sounds like Aylan! Can I tell you twice she has done something similar for me (she really is the sweetest!)...a few years back on my birthday, I got in the mail (at work) some Paul Frank jammies and then when we got engaged, she sent me a beautiful stainless steal ring box with a Bible passage that she selected. We keep our rings in there now and I think of her every time I open it. We really are incredibly fortunate to be able to call her a friend!
Awwww, what a sweet friend!!!
I love those Edible Arrangements, so pretty and so delicious.
I'm so with you on being ready for 2007 to end. Bring on 2008!!!
