(L to R: Cousin Kimberly, Raquel, me, sister-in-law Sheila and Lhee)
Saturday afternoon I joined my sister Erika and her hubby, along with my other sister and my mom and the kids, to have her 3D ultrasound done. It was the most amazing experience ever! I hadn't done any packing for my trip to New York yet but I was so glad I didn't miss this. The baby was a little lazy that day and didn't move a whole lot for us but we were all able to see his chubby cheeks! Everything continues to go well with her pregnancy and we are all anxiously awaiting for his arrival in December. Check out the little booger for yourself. Love him to pieces already!
I got home later that day to pack for my upcoming New York trip. I left the next morning at 10:30 and arrived in New York at 5:30. I was able to meet Alyssa and her hubby Rob for a quick bite and dessert at Serendipity . It was so great seeing them both in New York. I had a great time with them.
Alyssa and I in New York!
The rest of my week in New York was pretty uneventful. I was so tired at the end of every day that I would go home and change into my jammies and order room service, with the exception of Wednesday when I took one of accounts out to dinner. I was SO happy to be done and going home on Thursday. The next trip will be in January so I have some time. :)
Friday was my first day back in the office. After work, Gerric and I drove out to Hollywood Park to partake in some dollar hot dogs and dollar beers in honor of my girlfriend Kay's birthday. She celebrated a little early but we had a great time with everyone. The hubs and I were the only couple that didn't win in the horse races but we had a great time nonetheless. I'd have to say that my favorite part of the evening was taking my pick in my very first Sprinkles cupcake. I went with the Cinnamon Sugar and it did NOT disappoint. It was perfect in every way. Gerric went with his weakness, Chocolate on chocolate frosting and he seemed to enjoy his to the fullest as well.
Seriously, can she be ANY cuter?!?
Saturday was "Cleaning Day" in our household so I unpacked, did laundry and we cleaned our apartment. I got a little too crazy when I was cleaning our bathtub since I pretty much flooded our bathroom but all was okay after we cleaned up. Oops! That night we went grocery shopping and came home to watch taped shows on our DVR. After all, I was behind more than a week on my Oprah shows!
Sunday we went to church and did something we were NOT proud of. We were both hungry after church and wanted to grab something to eat before heading out to the cemetary. My husband put the thought in my head once and from there, there was no going back. We had Shakey's Pizza "Bunch a Lunch." It was SO good. We endulged in pizza, mojo's, fried chicken, macaroni salad and more pizza. Did we regret it afterwards? Yes! Will we do it again? Of course! You gotta live once in a while right?
When we got home, we were parking our car and three little boys approached us and asked if we wanted to buy some of their crafts. I asked what the money was going towards and they said "charity, other stuff and allowance." They were so sweet that I couldn't resist! What they were selling was uh, junk but I thought it was great that they were working for their money. Their crafts went for 25 cents to 75 cents a piece. At the end of our conversation, they were willing to give me some more things for free but I convinced them that their merchandise was too precious to simply give away! I gave them each $1 and they were on their way. I think I made their day. Here you'll find the "gems" I scored from them...
2 paper airplanes, a "frog" and I have no idea what the others were
In the evening, we celebrated a birthday for one of my husband's aunts. We ate, laughed, talked and had a grand old time! We were home by 9pm, just in time to catch Desperate Housewives! And now, here we are...another Monday. But at least we have a short week next week, due to the Thanksgiving holiday. Can't wait! Okay, I'm off to work and catch up on my blog reading...

Mmm cupcakes. Want one now! :)
3D ultrasounds are amazing. We almost didn't do it, but I ended up really wanting one of Zoe. The entire experience was so emotional and awesome. And accurate. Zoe looked just like her ultrasound... and people saw right away that she was going to look like me.
I love that you bought from those little entrepreneur's. Way to support the "little guy". :)
Welcome back! Great recap! And that's very sweet of you to buy their little crafts!
You are so good at being concise! I'm impressed with two weeks in just one entry. ;)
Welcome back! I missed seeing new posts from you. That 3-D ultrasound is amazing! I wish we would've done that....maybe next time.
Welcome back! Gosh those 3D photos are awesome... can't wait to see the 'real thing' when he arrives :) I'm sure you'll think I'm weird for saying this but.. you're so lucky to be able to just 'fly' to New York!!! It's my dream to visit there some day... I don't know when, but one day I'll be there... hopefully over Christmas/New Years. Have a good week!!!
