ANOTHER WEEKEND GONE BY

Welcome to my 2nd post. I guess I will keep up with this blog after all. I had a fabulous weekend. Of course it went by just as fast as every other weekend but it was one of the best in a long time.

Friday Nite -
Some of my husband's cousin's were here visiting from Canada with their kids and parents so my sister-in-law planned a fun night out for just the girls. I was looking forward to it at first but by the time Friday afternoon rolled around, all I could think about was how good going to sleep early sounded. So I got home and ended up taking a 1 1/2 hour nap. Very much needed. :) Then I called my SIL to find out what the plans were. Turns out we went to Mor Bar in Santa Monica. All nine of us girls took a van there (van? oh yeah, we were real sexy!) and had a blast!!! Being the lightweight that I am, all it took was 3 martinis and a shot to get me nice and toasty. We had a fabulous time there once the DJ started spinning hip-hop music. Then, once the hunger started kicking in, we all headed to a little cafe called Izzy's on Wilshire. By the time we got home at 3am, all the boys were asleep with the kids, scattered all over my SIL's living room. It was an adorable sight. It was a great fun-filled evening and I can't wait to do it again sometime.

Me feeling a little tipsy at the Mor Bar and some of us at the end of the night

Saturday -
My girlfriend Jess had planned on having a "jeans party" at her parents house for a while now so this was my plan for the afternoon. My husband and I cleaned all morning and then I picked up my sisters to go to this party. It was a lot of fun and it definitely paid off to get there early. We got first dibs. Even though the last thing I need right now is another pair if jeans, I wanted to add a pair of Rock and Republics to my denim collection so that's what I ended up getting. I got to see a lot of my friends too which was nice. I had a great time. After that, my sisters and I headed to Nordstrom to do a little more shopping and then we ate together in Cerritos. Nothing spectacular. I had Quizno's and they had Panda Express. Yum. After that, I joined my husband back at home to witness the Lakers get KILLED by the Phoenix Suns in Game 7 of the playoffs. My husband has been a true fan ever since the 80's so of course, he was very bummed to see them lose. Hey, we still have the Clippers, right?!?

Sunday -
This day was very anticipated since it was the day our families were getting together to FINALLY watch our wedding day DVD. Gerric and I have seen it SO many times but we were both looking forward to seeing with our families. After we BBQ'ed and ate a terrific lunch, my SIL (who hosted the event at her house) brought out some napkins for the tears and we watched the video. It was wonderful to relive that day again with our families. I had such a great time. I think it was another successful event and for the most part, I think it's safe to say that everyone enjoyed it.

So that sums up my weekend. Today is another Monday and I'll be praying that the week goes by fast.

Until the next time...
