READY FOR THE WEEKEND ALREADY
It's only Tuesday and already, I'm ready for the weekend to get here! This past weekend was non-eventful but it was certainly a nice one. I have refused to see the "Lord of the Rings" trilogy ever since it came out since I'm not a big fan of those types of movies. I would much rather go see your typical "Chick Flick" (in fact, my husband and I are going to go see "The Breakup" tonight after work) instead of hobbits and warriors being overcome by this magical ring. However, the hubby's brother-in-law couldn't believe I hadn't seen it either so they popped in the first of 3 movies on Memorial Day and I watched the first hour or so at their place. Gerric and I finished it this past weekend and even started the 2nd movie. I actually liked it! No, it's not something I would yearn to see over and over and over again but I can honestly say that I enjoyed the movie and every character in its cast. I have yet to finish the 2nd movie...I'm sure that will come this weekend if my husband has anything to say about it. :)
We also made it a trip to Ikea. I have never been a huge fan of this store but lately, their look and style seems to be changing for the better. We have a very tiny patio in our apartment and I wanted to make it look "lively" rather than the dirt that would accumulate every day. So we purchased a small little patio set and I put some tealight holders up around the wood fence. We also bought our first plant. We'll see how we do with that one but so far, Susie (that's what we named our plant :) seems to be liking her new home!
Today is 6/6/06 and I'll admit...I was a little afraid that we would have some major groundbreaking news today from some freak that decided to do something crazy due to the date. But luckily, nothing has happened...that I know of.
What else is new with me...well, I happened to mention to my boss last week that I was getting a little bored with my current position so I am going to be managing 2 of our International distributors now too. I'll be getting an assistant to help me with my current job (wow...me? with an assistant?!? ) and that will also mean a nice raise for me too...I have yet to talk numbers with the boss. This means I will also start traveling to New York about 5 times a year to attend sales meetings and market so that should be exciting...especially the times my husband is able to join me for the weekend perhaps. I hope I made the right decision in taking this new responsibility. Cross yours fingers for me.
Okay, my next post will most likely be my review of "The Break Up." Until then...
