HOW TIME FLIES

Two weeks ago, my husband and I celebrated our one-year wedding anniversary. I can't believe it's been one year since we said the words "I do." It was a perfect weekend and we still have our vacation to Puerto Vallarta in 2 weeks to look forward to.

My weekend started off on Friday when I received a beautiful bouquet of roses delivered to work. I wasn't expecting them since our anniversary wasn't actually until Sunday but they put a huge smile on my face.

On Saturday morning, my husband had to run some errands. When he got home and I went downstairs, I found these on our coffee table...

Gerric said he put them together himself which I thought was so sweet. After these, I knew for sure I was going to be spoiled that weekend. :) I was gone for a few hours that morning since I had made plans to go shopping for something special to wear to dinner at Koi that night. When I got home, I took my time to get ready and we drove out West L.A. I had been wanting to try this restaurant forever so I was so excited to finally have dinner there. There was no wait when we arrived. The food was so fabulous!!! We had a great time there. I had the grilled skirt steak and Gerric had the chilean sea bass. We both licked out plates clean! It was so delicious! After that, we drove back to enjoy a nice quiet evening at home.

When we got home, Gerric serenaded me on his guitar. It was so touching that I immediately started to cry. I don't know if it was the words to the song or the fact that I realized just how lucky I was to be married to him, but I took it all in at that moment. He sang "I wanna grow old with you." It was something I will never forget.

The next morning, I was able to sleep in. When I finally woke up, my amazing husband had made me breakfast in bed!!! I was so touched that he had gone through all the trouble. He made waffles, bacon (turkey bacon mind you) and eggs. It was one of the sweetest things ever! We had lunch afterwards at one of our favorite Thai restaurants. When we got back home, we celebrated by opening up a bottle of champagne that we had received as a gift on our wedding day and ate a slice of our wedding cake. It was yummy!

Since that same day was Gerric's grandfather's birthday, we celebrated it with the entire family at a Chinese restaurant. All in all, I had a wonderful weekend. We made it honey! Here's to 100 more years of blissful marriage!
