She was the last performer of the show and we got to see more than we wanted of her! It was a fun show though and I'm glad we were there. My hubby and I had a nice time and it was great getting out of our apartment for a change.
Saturday was a lounge around day for us. I was in my jammies for most of the day which I hadn't been able to do in SO long so I welcomed it. I finally cleaned the apartment and caught up up my Oprah tapings. Later that night we got ready and went to dinner at a small Italian restaurant near our place. I had the meatball sandwich and it was delicious!!! I would definitely go back for that...and the tiramisu. :)
Sunday was a nice Mother's Day. Gerric and I went to church at 10:30 and then went to the cemetary to visit his mommy and my nephew. The cemetary was the busiest I'd ever seen it but we dealt with the traffic. After that, we went to Emma and Henry's house to BBQ. Henry is doing well. He begins his chemo and radiation treatment on Wednesday of this week, which also happens to be my sister's birthday. What a way to celebrate. :( Although we're all nervous for that, we're hoping and praying that everything goes well and that the next six weeks fly by in a flash. Please continue your thoughts and prayers for him. While we were there, I noticed that Layla hadn't had her very 1st bath yet! So after going to the pet store to buy some doggy shampoo, the kids and I gave Layla her very 1st bath. She did really well...until the shivers overcame her little body. Poor thing...she wouldn't stop shivering! She was so cold afterwards and towels just weren't helping her! We finally dried most of her with a warm blow dryer. All she wanted to do was crawl into her bed with her blanket...poor baby girl!
You did good little Layla. We promise the next time we'll have the blow dryer ready for you!
After that, Gerric and I went to his aunt's house to finish up the weekend and Mother's Day with his family. It's always nice to spend time with his family...laughter never seems to fall short with them. :)
I had a nice weekend overall. With Henry's upcoming treatment approaching, I can't help but think of the future. I've been noticing a lot of older couples lately...including Gerric's grandma and grandpa yesterday. He always helps his wife walk due to her age and Parkinson's disease and even has to feed her. I think it's the most precious thing in the world. But I can't help but wonder if my sister will get to grow old with her husband now. I pray to God that she does because I know she wants nothing more than that. Please pray that his treatment goes well and that God listens to our prayers and bring health back into his life.
