HOME SWEET HOME
I'm back!!! I feel like I haven't blogged in forever! I just caught up on all my favorite blogs so now it's time to update my own! NYC was good...but I SO happy to be coming home, I was practically skipping to my gate at the airport! Here's the breakdown of my trip...
SUNDAY
- Had a 10:30 am flight. Left on time and arrived to my hotel at about 8pm. Ordered room service and went to bed to get ready for the first work day the following day.
MONDAY
- Went to work and had an appt with my Bahamas account. Went well but I also knew this was going to be the easiest day for me.
- That night, I had dinner plans with one of my off-price accounts and I met them at STK, a very hip and trendy steakhouse located in the meat-packing district. Everything was delicious, including my strawberry-rhubarb martini. I wanted to take pictures of everything, including the food but I felt a little silly explaining to the girls that I was taking pictures for my blog...so I nixed the idea. It was a lovely time though.
TUESDAY
- I had an appt with my South America account this day and things also went well. We had planned on having dinner that night but it turns out they were invited to a Mets game so I happily just went back to my hotel and ordered room service since I knew I had a LONG day ahead of me on Wednesday.
- A rainstorm (along with thunder and lightening) woke me up at about 5:30am. It had stopped by the time I had to leave for work but apparently, it was pretty bad in neighboring cities so taxi wait times were doubled and the subway system was down for hours! Traffic in general that entire day was insane!
WEDNESDAY
- I had to meet my boss that morning at her hotel in order to go to a management appointment we had with a client in downtown NYC. The weather was crazy humid...a steambath in fact! But I managed to walk the 8 blocks to get there on time and off we were. The meeting went well...nothing to tell there. But on the way back, we were crawling in traffic. My boss needed to make it to the airport to catch her flight so I jumped out of the car I was in and into a taxi we luckily saw, and 45 minutes later, I was back in our showroom.
- This was by far my longest day. I met with a new account of ours from Brazil. Since this was their first time at a market, they had plenty of questions so I worked with them until 10PM that night!!! I was exhausted by the time I got back to the hotel and was eating dinner at 11pm. I finally got to bed close to midnight.
THURSDAY
- I didn't have any appointments this day so I just finished up work and finally left for the airport at about 2pm. I was so happy to see my husband in the baggage claim terminal. :) I was finally home!
Weekend update...
SATURDAY
- We each had a dentist appt (YUCK!) so after that, we went home and did some much-needed laundry the rest of the day. We ended up eating dinner at a small restaurant we've been wanting to try since we moved to our city almost 2 years ago. We had hamburgers and the wait was worth it! They were delicious! After that, we ended up at Boomers. We went on the go-karts, had our fun at the batting cages and played a game of air hockey. I had a great time!
SUNDAY
- Went to church, went to the cemetary
- My husband went to go play basketball while I bought some groceries and we relaxed the rest of the day
*sigh* Now here we are...another Monday. It got off to a very, very bad start when I read an e-mail from my girlfriend that her father suddenly passed away yesterday. My heart aches for her. I hope I can speak to her soon.
So that's it...not much going on but work. I hope to keep updated on my blog from now on.

Welcome home! I missed you! Sounds like you had a productive trip! How great is room service though? It's not home, but it's a good second runner-up :) Boomers? What a fun date night!! Can't wait to see you at the Frosted Cupcakery next week!
