BIRTHDAYS AND MINI GETAWAYS

We celebrated our anniversary with a quick trip to the Golden Arches. Yep, that's how we roll. :) After that, we went to pay a visit to my husband's grandfather who turned 81 years old yesterday. Yes, on our anniversary. We met up with my sister-in-law, her husband and their cousin Jerome there and had a nice visit. It's always nice to see Grandpa. Happy Birthday to him!!!

Given that I followed the traditional gift-giving on our first year anniversary and gave him something with "paper," I wanted to stick with it and give him something with "cotton" this year. Since the year has had some unexpected bad news, I really didn't plan ahead for this year. It took me a while to figure out what it was I wanted to give my husband so I decided to get a little creative.

I remembered that he had won an auction at his work for a free GC at the Sage Spa at the Morongo Resort and spa. So I went with that. I booked us a room at the resort and made reservations for massages in their couples room. What does that have to do with cotton, you ask? Well nothing but I threw some in his gift instead of using tissue paper just for kicks! I also bought him a bag of COTTON candy. Hey, I didn't say I got that creative.

We'll be taking our mini getaway next Thursday and Friday. We're both looking forward to it very much!

In other GREAT news, Henry's platelets are back up (yey!) so he'll be starting his next round of chemo tonight. As always, please continue to keep him in your prayers for a smooth round.

Catching up on your posts since we've been visiting my dad. So happy about Henry. :)

Oh... get a flickr account girlie! Even if you don't add pics yourself (which you should!) I'll add you as a friend so you can still see Zoe grow.
