THE GOOD AND THE BAD

The Good:

- A group of us are participating in the Angel Adventure Walk benefiting the National Brain Tumor Foundation. We are really looking forward to this in hopes that someday, we will find a cure. We are walking in honor of Henry and I couldn't be more proud of how strong he's been since the day he was diagnosed. His wife, who is my sister, has already reached her goal but if you'd like to donate anything for this great cause, please go to: http://www.firstgiving.com/henryarevalo. Wish us luck on October 20th (2 days after Henry's birthday)...the day of the walk!

The Bad:

- A few years ago, I was going to attend a wedding for a friend and I went online to google the reception location in order to get directions. I came across a wedding website for an engaged couple in my search and the next thing I knew, I found myself reading their entire website! I felt like I had known them forever after I was done! I felt compelled to sign their guestbook and a few days later, the bride-to-be e-mailed me. I call her my "Internet friend." :) We've kept in touch since and we actually had the opportunity to meet once. She's a sweetheart. It had been a while since we had connected so I e-mailed her and she shared the news with me that her and her husband were expecting their first baby! I was so excited for them. Today, she e-mailed me to let me know they lost their little one. I can only imagine the pain they are going through since our family went through a loss ourselves and I have close friends who have gone through this recently as well.

Jenn - if you're reading this, again, I'd like to say how sorry I am for your loss. I know in my heart that you will be blessed again soon.

I love that you are participating in the Angel Adventure Walk in honor of Henry. A walk and some fundraising for a cure are great ways to feel like you are doing something to beat the crappy ass tumor! xoxo!
