A few years ago, my then-boyfriend (now husband) decided it was time to leave the nest at home and move out. He met Mike, a co-worker and became good friends with him. They decided to look for a place together (think "bachelor pad") and after a short time of looking, they moved into an apartment. That's when Ruby came into my life. She was Mike's then-girlfriend (now wife). We clicked instantly. We have laughed and cried together and I consider her one of my closest friends. She was even a bridesmaid in my wedding and I was one at hers. Since the boys moved out and got married (to us!), we don't see each other as often but always make time to get together to catch up. Last night's dinner was long overdue but I had a fabulous time. We met at Cuidad Restaurant in Downtown L.A. It was wonderful to see her. I am very lucky to have a girlfriend like Ruby in my life. I hope to do it again very, very soon.
