WEEKEND REWIND: TIMES 2

First and foremost, thank you so much for your prayers and well wishes for my dad. The surgery went very well and he’s at home recovering now. He looks good and most importantly, he feels good. Thank you for keeping him in your thoughts and prayers…

I have a lot to catch up on. I’m getting ready for a business trip to Panama next week so it’s been a bit crazy. Some highlights from the past couple weeks:

- My niece’s Quinceanera was on October 11th. It was a beautiful day filled with lots of great moments and happy memories. It’s hard to believe my niece is 15 years old now! She looked stunning that day and radiated happiness the entire day. Here she is with her grandparents also known as my parents :) My husband and I wanted to help so part of our gift to her was a candy buffet for her guests so I had been working on this project for quite some time. I think the hard work and the little details paid off as I was happy with the results. It was a hit!

Her cake was amazing...made by the wonderful Great Dane .

There were lots of tears in the room when Henry and Bianca had their dance. When Henry was in the hospital last year, we didn't think this day was going to be possible. It was such a beautiful moment.

Here are my hubby and I at the celebration. We had a great time that night.

- The next day we celebrated my mom’s birthday at my sister’s house. Happy Birthday mom!

- This past Saturday morning, we participated in the Angel Adventure Walk for the 2nd year in a row. It was a beautiful morning in Huntington Beach and there was no better way to start the day off. There were stories of loss and stories of hope and inspiration – I pray to God every day that Henry will be up there someday sharing his story of triumph and survivorship.

Here is Henry with his brother...looking great!

- That day was also Henry’s birthday so we celebrated that night with great food and great company. Happy Birthday Henry…and here’s to many, many more years.

That’s the gist of my past couple of weeks. Work has been insane, as always, but I’m looking forward to some down time during the holidays. I’ll still be working but things always seem to be quieter and more relaxing during that time.

I’m looking forward to my best friend’s baby shower this coming Saturday. I saw her last when we finally went up to visit her and her husband for the 4th of July so I can’t wait to see her growing belly and celebrate their new bundle of joy scheduled to arrive in December!

After my trip to Panama, I hope to finally sit down and choose a date for our house warming. We never did get to have one so it will be a nice way to have a little get-together at our house.

Not looking forward to the flight out to Panama…I’m taking the red-eye on Sunday/Monday at 2am…ugh. I’ll be so happy to be back home. I’ll be missing our first Halloween in our new house since I’m flying back home that day and won’t be landing at LAX until 11pm but that didn’t stop me from decorating a bit for the kids that will be trick-or-treating around the neighborhood that day.

Here is Adam at almost 10 months, having a ball at Bianca's 15th.

Until the next time...
