UPDATE & GOODBYE TO A FRIEND...FOR NOW

Well, not much to update but felt the need to let everyone know how Henry is doing. Not that anyone really reads this regularly or eagerly anticipates a new post from me. Henry was released from rehab on Wednesday and couldn't have been more relieved. It's so great to know he's back at home with his wife and kids. I know they couldn't be happier either. But now, the next phase begins....chemo and radiation. :( I continue to ask God to give him strength and courage to get through this time...as I'm sure he will. It's a little odd (maybe eerie is the word I'm looking for) that I have about 4 different blogs that I keep up with on a daily basis...all of which are written by cancer patients or their loved ones who's lives are taken over by this evil disease. I've always found their stories to be nothing short of courageous and I always wondered how these people found the will to keep going every day. And now, here I am, writing about MY story about MY loved one who's been inflicted with the disease. I only hope that our story ends with a happy ending.

In other news, one of my closest friends Jessica, has moved to Texas with her husband and daughter this week. I always took it for granted that she lived on the same street. Granted, it was a very long street and it still required a car for me to visit, but still, it made me very sad to know she wouldn't be there when I needed her. I know it's for the best and I'm sure they will be very happy there but it's times like these when I need my friends the most. Not so much to see them all the time or even talk on the phone every night but just to know that they are there when I need them. Maybe it's a bit selfish on my part. Who knows. Either way, I cried when she left. Just like I cried years ago when my best friend moved to Nevada. I know I will see her again soon...but not soon enough. Our monthly dinner dates with our other girlfriend Kelly just won't be the same. I know Kelly feels the same way too. But her and I will continue the tradition. Because that's what friends do :)
