PANAMA HIGHLIGHTS, BOWLING & AQUARIUM OF THE PACIFIC

Today marks 2 weeks since my trip out to Panama. In two words...great experience. The flight out went okay but the first day I was there was brutal since I landed, checked into my hotel and had to go straight into my clients office. That first night I ordered room service and went straight to bed. I woke up the next morning not remembering where I was...I was tired. It was a good week overall. I was able to meet my accounts from Equador, Costa Rica, Colombia, Venezuela, Aruba and Curacao. I learned a lot about the business and I'm hoping it serves as a good opportunity for me to grow that business even further. The night before we left, we had a big event in order to give our company some press. It went off without a hitch. Then we had an after party and were able to go out to a couple clubs in Panama. It was a great trip but I was certaintly glad to be home. My husband tells me we didn't have a huge crowd of trick-o-treaters at our house but I was still bummed I had missed our first Halloween at our house.

Panama Canal

The Canal was so fascinating!

The next night, we headed over to All Star Lanes to celebrate Gerric's coworkers birthday. I only played one game but had a great time.

Sunday we had free tickets to the Aquarium of the Pacific in Long Beach. Since it was celebrating its 10th anniversary, we figured we'd go check it out. Before we went there, we decided to try a local bakery/cafe called Grounds. My girlfriend Alyssa had mentioned it to us before but every time we tried to eat there, it was closed! We finally tried it last Sunday and let's just say we went back there today! I had the turkey and cranberries sandwich with macaroni salad on the side...oh.my.gawd. Delicious!!! After our amazing lunch, we headed over to thr Aquarium. We both decided it was just okay. I think we both expected more but it's definitely a place we'll take our kids someday :)

This weekend was pretty mellow. We had dinner at Bucca Di Peppo to celebrate my sister-in-laws birthday. I had to wake up early the next morning so we didn't make it a super late night. My mom was going to Mexico for 2 weeks to visit her sisters so I joined my sister in taking her to the airport. I had to wake up at 4:45 (yes, AM!). My dad went with us too. We all hate when my mom is gone...but we know she deserves a break. I just hope these 2 weeks fly by so we can have her back! I also feel bad knowing that my Dad is alone in the house but I know he'll be fine.

I can't believe it's November already. Before you know it, we'll be saying goodbye to the year 2008 and welcoming 2009. It flew by.

I know it's a bit early but Henry has another MRI on Wednesday...as always, please pray for good results.

Have a great week!

"Just okay" is the perfect description of the Aquarium of the Pacific. That's what we thought, too, when we were considering it as a possible wedding venue. :)

Panama sounds incredible! I'm glad it was a good trip for you. Ditto on Aquarium. Just OK.

And we have ZERO trick-or-treaters at our house because we are up in the hills. I actually love this since it means I don't have to worry about candy!

Haven't heard about Henry's MRI results...forgot to ask the other night. I'll assume no news, is good news?
